Hair cut

Just brought Dillon for hair cut at Indian Barber shop last Sunday. As usual, he was crying his heart out once the barber came near him with the scissors.

Hubby has to hold him tight throughout the session but he was still struggling hard to get away. It was a pitiful scene to see him crying like that, with tear drops running down & mucus coming out from his nose, strands of hair all over his face. No matter what I talked to him or how hard I tried to "entertain" him, it just doesn't work but once the barber was done, he immediately stopped crying.

I wonder if all kids at this age also fear of hair cutting, actually what makes them so scare or dislike? Or is it the barber that they are fear of?

hahaha.....he looks cute in the new hairstyle. I haven't taken Ashley to the hair saloon before. I always DIY with her hair.... a bit messy. I guess it's easier to cut a girl's hair :D

Hi jan, cairo's mummy & mommy to chumsy, wonder if there is such type of kid saloon here in KL? But again, not sure if it would works for Dillon.

I didn't shave him before, too "sayang' la, hehe. Now usually he would have his hair cut every 3 months, hopefully he will cry lesser when he grow older.... ;)

anything to distract should be OK. favorite book, tvshow, toy.. just so he gets used to it. also not letting him look in the mirror may help :)

it's common for a child to cry whenever they see barber.

Ching Ern lasted for 5 mins before she started to whine and turned her head left and right. Luckily it was towards the end...

Dillon looks good with the new haircut :)

How about giving him a reward after the haircut? Maybe that will help....
